  1. Water bottle(s)
  2. Topographic map
  3. Compass
  4. Sunscreen and lip balm

The County of San Diego Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) maintains 124 parks, preserves and historic sites across 50,000 acres of park land. No matter where you’re located or how far you want to travel, we offer a ready escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

If you have questions about where to go or what to pack, visit, call the reservations hotline at 877-565-3600, or ask a ranger. DPR staff is on site seven days a week at many parks to protect local habitats and ensure you enjoy a rewarding experience outdoors.
