Nancy Gains Experience and Education to Find Meaningful Work

When Nancy finished her prison sentence, she wanted more than anything to get a job and move forward with her life. Jewish Family Service’s Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) gave her that chance. Through SCSEP, Nancy earned a training opportunity at a local nonprofit, assisting individuals and families who struggle with addiction, homelessness, and domestic violence. While working, Nancy received job search assistance and gained the confidence she needed to be successful in the workforce. Nancy also earned her Alcohol & Other Drugs Study (AODS) Certification and immediately put her training to work through SCSEP. Today, Nancy has full-time employment in the same field and is viewed as a role model by her clients. She can cover her daily living expenses, and she contributes to a savings plan for her future.
