BAME Community Development Corporation (BAME CDC) was welcomed as a Live Well San Diego recognized partner on April 8, 2015. BAME CDC is a nonprofit agency that strives to strengthen and rebuild the fabric of the community through business, community, and economic development. By investing in families and individuals, BAME CDC encourages and supports residents to reach their highest potential.
BAME CDC was created in June 1995, by the members of Bethel Memorial African Methodist Episcopal Church in San Diego CA. BAME CDC is a public benefit organization and is a separate, stand-alone outreach and community expression of the church's commitment to positive, supportive and societal change.
BAME CDC shares the vision of Live Well San Diego by promoting healthy, safe, and thriving communities in Greater Logan Heights. As a partner, BAME CDC is committed to continuing to advance Live Well San Diego into the future by providing health awareness workshops on cervical cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and stroke. They also collaborate with other agencies to provide practical programs and services that include hands-on support, information & referrals and basic education to improve community health, financial behavior, create beautiful communities and encourage small business development. They are currently working to create an employee wellness program to encourage physical activity, safety, and healthy living.
