The City of Lemon Grove joined the Live Well San Diego as a recognized partner on December 3, 2013. Lemon Grove demonstrates an ongoing partnership and commitment to the County’s Live Well San Diego initiative by supporting the vision of healthy, safe, and thriving communities through participation in the Live Well San Diego East Region Leadership Team and promotion of wellness within their City through policy development and environmental enhancements. The City of Lemon Grove is currently a Kaiser Permanente Healthy Eating Active Living (HEAL Zone) Initiative community with grant funding providing the opportunity for community stakeholders to develop and implement environmental strategies to create changes in healthy eating and physical activity in various community settings. The idea of collective impact emphasizes that with every community partner playing their unique part, powerful change is possible. The City of Lemon Grove recognizes the importance of its relationship with the Lemon Grove School District and community improvement initiatives and is committed to partnering with the District on Safe Routes to School projects. The County of San Diego recognizes and honors partners that support the creation of healthier, safe and more self-sufficient communities and the City of Lemon Grove is a fitting partner based on their outstanding service, leadership, and commitment to the health and safety of the residents and families they serve.
