Dirty Dogs joined Live Well San Diego as a recognized partner on April 30, 2014. Dirty Dogs recognizes that pet ownership can play a key role in helping to reduce stress and increase physical activity, and they are committed to supporting the health of both humans and pets. Dirty Dogs became a Live Well San Diego partner by supporting positive pet-owning experiences, encouraging a culture of workplace wellbeing in their stores, and committing to serve the community. They coordinate regular community events for pet-owners, host dog wash fundraisers for local organizations in their stores, and partner with non-profit organizations to help homeless animals. Most recently, Dirty Dogs hosted a dog-friendly community event at a local winery to help raise money for Shelter to Soldier, a non-profit rescue organization that trains shelter dogs to be companions for military veterans. Over the 2013 holiday season, Dirty Dogs held a pet food drive that resulted in the donation of 3,500 pounds of dog food to the Rancho Coastal Humane Society. In addition to their community work, Dirty Dogs is also committed to supporting a healthy work environment for their staff and their clients by offering medical benefits to all full-time employees and cage-free grooming facilities for dogs and cats as well as a complete range of healthy products for pets. In the future, Dirty Dogs aims to collaborate with the County’s Department of Animal Services to expand their contribution to dog friendly communities. Dirty Dogs is fully committed to the vision of the Live Well San Diego initiative and will continue to align their business in support of healthy, safe, and thriving communities.
