The Epilepsy Foundation of San Diego County joined Live Well San Diego as a recognized partner on July 29, 2017. The Epilepsy Foundation of San Diego County leads the fight to stop seizures, find a cure for epilepsy and overcome the challenges created by epilepsy through education, advocacy and research. They offer expressive arts sessions, support groups, special events and epilepsy awareness training along with a host of informational resources about epilepsy.
The Epilepsy Foundation of San Diego County is Building a Better Service Delivery System by maintaining and assessing service provider listings for resources and referrals and creating and strengthening partnerships, such as with the SDSU School of Social Work graduate level intern program.
The Epilepsy Foundation of San Diego County Supports Positive Choices by providing workshops, such as their Expert Speaker Series, Annual Epilepsy Education Conference and Expressive Arts Programs; an annual 5k walk and cycling events to encourage overall health and wellness, physical activity, and nutrition.
The Epilepsy Foundation of San Diego County is Pursuing Policy and Environmental Change by providing resources and support to empower clients and community members to become advocates for improving ADA accommodations in schools, the workplace and the community; developing a statewide epilepsy agenda; and advocating within government agencies for public policy which ensures the rights of people affected by epilepsy to fully participate as contributing members of their communities.
The Epilepsy Foundation of San Diego County is Improving the Culture Within by providing free epilepsy awareness and first aid trainings to first responders, school personnel, businesses, agencies, and county employees along with promoting overall healthy living and positive choices to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all citizens.
In addition to the programs above, The Epilepsy Foundation of San Diego County is committed to advancing the vision by supporting epilepsy research and accelerating the commercialization of new therapies and expanding educational programs and service outreach throughout the county and state.
