TERI joined Live Well San Diego as a recognized partner on December 14, 2017 at their annual Holiday Snow Ball Event. Since 1980, TERI has been improving the quality of life for children and adults with autism and other developmental and learning disabilities, and their families. TERI specializes in serving individuals who have needs which cannot be met by other existing programs. Since its inception, TERI has grown to serve over 850 individuals of all ages and their families. TERI has been recognized as a model program in the State of California and at the federal level for the quality of services they provide and has provided consultation in over 8 countries on 4 continents.
TERI offers an extensive array of life span services designed so that every student reaches his or her maximum potential. Health and fitness of the body and mind are at the root of their enrichment programs. TERI grows over 1500 pounds of certified organic produce each month in addition to raising natural pigs and free-range chickens for eggs. In addition to the agriculture program, they promote an active lifestyle. Clients attend fitness classes tailored to the individual – whether running on a treadmill, swimming laps in a pool, or practicing with strength resistance bands in wheelchairs, there is something active and stimulating for each student. Clients are also involved in TERI’s therapeutic equestrian center, yoga, fine arts, music and performing arts, among others.
Embracing the philosophy of Collective Impact, TERI is fully committed to the Live Well San Diego vision, and will continue to contribute towards a healthy, safe, and thriving community.
