The Helen Knoll Foundation joined Live Well San Diego as a recognized partner on November 19th, 2015. Since its inception in 2006, their mission has been to “empower young women to stop breast cancer before it starts through education, advocacy, and subsidized screenings.” The Helen Knoll Foundation promotes active lifestyles, proper nutrition, breast cancer risk factor education and age appropriate screenings to help women make healthy choices that can reduce their risk of developing breast cancer.
The Helen Knoll Foundation’s college outreach campaign spans throughout the state of California at multiple university and college campuses. Through education and prevention seminars and presentations, the college outreach campaign strives to inspire young women to make positive life choices. In addition, they offer subsidized screenings to make sure all women have access to early detection screenings regardless of their financial situation.
In October 2015, the Helen Knoll Memorial Community Center opened its doors at the Brown Building in City Heights. The space provides the Helen Knoll Foundation with an opportunity to host community and women’s health related events.
As a Live Well San Diego partner, the Helen Knoll Foundation will continue to uphold their mission of empowering young women to prevent breast cancer through education, advocacy, and age appropriate screenings.
