Love Your Heart Across San Diego County

Love is in the air across San Diego County today.  The Love Your Heart campaign, that is.  The County of San Diego and more than 90 community partners have teamed up to offer free blood pressure checks today to encourage people to “know their numbers” and take charge of their heart health.

San Diego County residents can have a free blood pressure screening today by stopping in at any of more than 200 locations across the San Diego region, including fire stations, libraries, community centers, health clinics, businesses and County facilities.  Call 2-1-1 or go for the nearest screening location.

Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States, and the second leading cause of death in San Diego County.  Obesity, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes and a family history of heart disease can put an individual at greater risk.

The County of San Diego and its partners are hoping to offer a free blood pressure screening to more than 20,000 residents today.  The Love Your Heart campaign supports Live Well San Diego, the County’s long term initiative to improve the health, safety and well-being of residents in the region.
