The Foundation for Senior Wellbeing is a non-profit organization who aims to improve the wellbeing of a growing population of seniors throughout North San Diego County by linking them, their families, and their caregivers to resources and programs. The Foundation has a vision that all seniors in North San Diego County should achieve personal wellbeing so they may thrive!
The Foundation’s Information Resource Center (IRC), which opened in 2016 in San Marcos, is just one example of the effort to help the region’s seniors. Older adults find compassionate counseling through the IRC’s services to help them solve challenges in the areas of housing, transportation, legal assistance, food/nutrition needs, health issues and more. The center is open Monday through Friday from 9 am to 1 pm. Seniors (or caregivers) in need of support or with questions can reach a supportive volunteer helper by calling 844-654-4636.
The Foundation has been a source of funding for seniors-in-crisis programs and founded the Senior Disaster Resource Alliance, which offers programs to prepare and equip seniors for emergencies and disasters. Looking forward, The Foundation recently launched a Senior Spotlight Series to connect and educate older adults about resources and services in North County.
