Interfaith Shelter Network (ISN) joined Live Well San Diego as a recognized partner on October 3, 2015. Formed in 1986 as a non-profit community coalition, Interfaith Shelter Network provides safe shelter in private and calm living arrangements, and encourages self-sufficiency that eventually leads to permanent housing arrangements. Committed to creating healthy, safe and thriving communities, ISN is dedicated to ending homelessness in San Diego through numerous comprehensive approaches.
Annually, ISN case-managed emergency shelters serve more than 250 family members and individuals to stay an average of five and a half weeks per client. ISN coordinates the efforts of partners including, congregations, social service agencies, and governmental programs to deliver resources and promotes positive choices by providing weekly therapy sessions to promote healthy mental and physical choices.
As a community-based organization, ISN employs a small staff of seven and coordinates the efforts of more than 4,000 volunteers. Without the expense of a permanent shelter, ISN is able to provide cost-effective, successful programs. ISN is committed to continuing its efforts that contribute to a healthy, safe, and thriving community, and looks forward to continuing to find ways to align their work with the Live Well San Diego vision.
