Formerly the Chula Vista Nature Center, Living Coast Discovery Center (Living Coast) has been educating schoolchildren and families about coastal wildlife since 1987 through interpretive, up-close exhibits. They are best known for their sea turtles, eagles, and hands-on Shark & Ray Experience, in addition to exhibits with other birds of prey and reptiles. Uniquely located on San Diego Bay National Wildlife Refuge, Living Coast visitors have the opportunity to observe the wide range of wild species that are unique to their location on Sweetwater Marsh.
Annually, the Living Coast welcomes 80,000 visitors including 29,000 school children who explore more than 30 interactive exhibits. Living Coast Discovery Center inspires the community to connect with and care for our coastal environment.
