The Lux Art Institute joined Live Well San Diego as a recognized partner on January 25, 2014. The Lux Art Institute collaborates with the many other Encinitas Live Well San Diego partners in a community-wide effort to improve the health and wellbeing of Encinitas residents. Lux became a Live Well San Diego partner by aligning their programs with the community at large in ways that support interaction with art and making it accessible to all ages. As an art institute, their work contributes to well-being through immersion, expression, and interaction with art. In addition to their art-focused programs, Lux is committed to making a positive environmental impact on the community. Not only do they operate in one of the few LEED certified buildings in San Diego County, but they also will be using reclaimed and locally manufactured materials in the renovation of their Education Pavilion to open in 2014. The environment plays a central role in their work from supporting sustainable gardens to the Lux Nature Trail, a trail which features hundreds of native plants and apple trees. They support active lifestyles by giving free admission to all visitors that ride a bike to Lux. The Institute is committed to expanding programs to further their reach within the community as a Live Well San Diego partner.
