UrbanLife joined Live Well San Diego as a recognized partner at UrbanLife’s 2017 5K/Kid’s Fun Run held at Chollas Lake near City Heights on February 25, 2017. UrbanLife is a faith-based non-profit serving youth in City Heights and Southeastern San Diego neighborhoods. Their mission is to “see transformed people transform their neighborhoods through Christian Community Development initiatives and vibrant missional communities that love God, neighbor and 'hood.”
UrbanLife engages over 250 students per year at six middle and high school campuses in City Heights and Southeastern San Diego with a diverse offering of programs. They have two urban farms and a cafe at the Copley-Price YMCA that employ urban youth, a running program operating on two high schools and two middle schools, two tutoring programs, and multiple youth development programs. UrbanLife also facilitates a youth Resident Leadership Academy through their Southeast San Diego urban farm site. They have over 40 volunteers that together serve over 4,000 hours per year across all their programs.
UrbanLife is committed to advancing the Live Well San Diego vision by continuing to partner with many non-profits, youth organizations, churches and other institutions, to empower youth to be leaders in their own neighborhood and live healthy, positive lives of impact.
