Providing shelter, homes, and support services for persons experiencing homelessness
The public is invited to participate in a series of upcoming in-person and virtual community conversations focused on where shelters, homes, and supportive services for persons experiencing homelessness should be located within the unincorporated communities of San Diego County.
This effort is in support of the County of San Diego Board of Supervisors’ adopted Framework for Ending Homelessness and specifically addresses Compassionate Emergency Solutions and Pathways to Housing for People Experiencing Homelessness in East County.
The upcoming sessions will focus on the communities of Lakeside and Spring Valley.
The below maps present possible options and sites for consideration and will be discussed with the community.
These are the possible site locations for Spring Valley.
These are the possible site locations for Lakeside.
Hosted by the County of San Diego Department of Homeless Solutions and Equitable Communities, Office of Homeless Solutions, these sessions will be held for community residents interested in learning about options. The sessions will also be an opportunity for residents, including residents who have experienced homelessness, to share their opinions and ideas, and to ask questions, as part of the planning and decision-making process.
All sessions will cover the same information for the specific community – in this case Spring Valley or Lakeside. A 10-minute initial presentation will be offered at the start of each session, followed by community input and dialogue.
