Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) lifestyle change programs are classes designed to empower people with prediabetes to take charge of their health and well-being. Many DPP lifestyle change programs in San Diego implement the National DPP Program curriculum, which is an evidence-based and cost-effective program developed specifically for people with prediabetes to prevent the progression to type 2 diabetes. Research shows that lifestyle changes can reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes by as much as 58% in people with prediabetes. Click here to learn more about the DPP Lifestyle Change Program.
Costs for the program are often covered by insurance providers or employers, which means little or no out-of-pocket costs for you. Talk to your employer or insurance provider to see if the program is a covered benefit for you. If not, talk to your employer or insurance provider about offering the DPP lifestyle change program as a covered benefit.
