The Live Well San Diego 5K & Kids 1-Mile Fun Run took place on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at the Waterfront Park Downtown, 1600 Pacific Highway, San Diego, CA 92101. We hope you were able to join us for a jam-packed day celebrating Fitness for All Ages!

Bib and Race Shirt Pick-Up:

We are thrilled to have more than 4,000 participants registered for this year’s event. There are three opportunities to pick up your bib and shirt. To make the morning of the race as smooth as possible for an excellent experience for all participating, we kindly request and encourage you to pick up bib and shirt at 211 San Diego Connections Center on Thursday or Saturday.

Additional Amenities

The Intergenerational Zone Powered by First 5 San Diego:

We are excited that this year’s Community Expo will feature the Intergenerational Zone powered by First 5 San Diego. The Intergenerational Zone has activities for all ages including the Kids Clinic Pop Up sponsored by the Home Depot, yard games provided by the County of San Diego Parks and Recreation Department.

 

Staying Fueled: 

Food and coffee trucks will be on site for snacks and goodies for purchase for all participants, runners and walkers. 

 

Staying Hydrated:

  • While we will be providing water, we believe in being environmentally sound and STRONGLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO BRING YOUR OWN WATER in an effort to cut down on waste. 

  • The Community Expo will have a water tent at the exit of the race for runners and attendees.

  • There will be a Hydration Station located at the half point of the race route (near the Embarcadero) powered by San Diego County Credit Union

 

Please Pack Light:

Due to risk and liability, we are unable to provide a participants’ belongings drop off area. 

 

Bathrooms and Baby Changing Stations:

The Community Expo will have ADA bathroom stalls and handwashing stations available as well as baby changing stations throughout the Expo site. Please bring your own supplies!

Every participant will receive a finisher medal and a FREE Live Well San Diego 5K retro t-shirt!

First, Second, and Third Place medal, followed by the finisher medal for all participants.

5K FITNESS CHALLENGE

The 5K Fitness Challenge is designed to help you prepare to walk or run in the 5K race on September 18. Sign up to receive weekly emails or texts with exercise tips, encouragement, and notifications about the week's training plan and upcoming fitness meet-ups (August 15 through September 19)!

Use our 5-week training plan is designed to help you slowly increase your physical activity to help you prepare to run or walk in the Live Well San Diego 5K Race. No matter how you exercise, the training plan can help you get there!

Live Meet-Ups

Don't go it alone! Sirius Fitness and County Parks will be hosting running, biking, and hiking meet-ups throughout the month to help you get active and share a workout with others. Or join OG Yoga on a rest day for a Restorative Yoga flow! Let's do this together!

   

Group Runs with Sirius Fitness

Every Saturday at 7:15 a.m. join Sirius Fitness on a roughly 3-mile long group run - all levels are welcome! Join Sirius Fitness Run & Fit Club on Facebook for information on where to meet each week.

    

Yoga Classes

Free yoga classes for race participants August 15 through September 19! Sign up for any class on the OG Yoga Schedule both in-person and virtual! Instructions to sign up will be sent once registered for the 5K.

   

Experience the Outdoors

Enjoy the outdoors with dozens of new events and activities on County land! From camping and kayaking to ranger-led excursions and a new mountain biking challenge, this program is scheduled to take place in all parts of the County and is designed to remove barriers that may prevent park visitation.
