NEW FOR 2021!

Nature offers incredible healing powers for our mind and body and is a great place to "Be COVID Safe" while getting in some exercise. Join the Live Well San Diego Trails Challenge to get active and breathe happy!

Held in partnership with the County of San Diego Department of Parks and Recreation, Park Rangers will be hosting a series of ranger-led hikes each Saturday in May starting May 1 with the Ramona Grasslands loop and ending on May 29 with the Warrior Hike Challenge!

HIKE SCHEDULE

May 1 Easy 10am Ramona Grasslands, 4-mile loop
May 8 Easy 10am Sweetwater/Morrison Pond, up to 5 miles
May 15 Moderate 10am

The Warrior Hike celebrates the physical and mental stamina of active duty and retired military personnel with a hike that tests the mettle of the toughest athletes. Arguably the toughest hike in San Diego, the El Capitan Preserve Summit is roughly 11 miles...and uphill both ways!  Celebration stations are set at the 1- and 3-mile turnaround points, with water and healthy snacks.

KICK IT UP A NOTCH

We’ve partnered with the Vizer app to power up our Trails Challenge. Vizer is a free app that converts workouts into meal donations. Use the app between May 1 and May 31 using corporate challenge code "LiveWell" to track your exercise for the month and donate as many meals as you can to the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank

HOW THE CHALLENGE WORKS

Step One: SWEAT

Download the free Vizer app and input group code "LiveWell". Choose your activity challenge each day - either to walk 10,000 steps, reach 30 active minutes, or take a workout class - and let your fitness tracker connect your activity to the Vizer app.

Step Two: Give

Every day that you reach your goal, make sure to tap "Donate" on the app to have Vizer partners donate a meal on your behalf to the Jacobs and Cushman San Diego Food Bank. We'll send out send reminders, encouragement, and leaderboards through the app to help keep you going so you meet your goal!

Step Three: HIKE

Join us each Saturday in May for a ranger-led hike or take a hike anywhere in San Diego County to help prepare you for the final Warrior Hike of the El Capitan Preserve on May 29.

SIGN-UP TODAY!

To sign-up for the fitness challenge, download the free Vizer App, and input corporate challenge code "LiveWell". The Vizer app will track your activity and steps and send out reminders and encouragement to keep you going so you meet your goal!
