On March 9,2024, the San Diego County Commission on the Status of Women and Girls hosted a first-of-its-kind event at the Southeastern Live Well Center. The commission brought together experts in the fields of housing, health care, employment, and immigration, to help local residents better understand their rights during a symposium offering a series of panel presentations.
Organizations in attendance included representatives from a few Live Well San Diego Recognized Partners, including:
- University of San Diego,
- Jewish Family Service,
- Legal Aid Society of San Diego,
- Mana de San Diego, and
- Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest.
The Commission is mandated to study and advise the San Diego County Board of Supervisors on areas of concern to women’s lives and needs in San Diego County.
