Southeastern Live Well Center
The County of San Diego plays a critical role in providing a variety of health and community services to promote the well-being of residents. The new Southeastern Live Well Center will provide a single stop for residents to get these services in a convenient and modern location. It will also serve as a hub for community meetings, educational opportunities, and workforce training. We are working closely with the community to develop the project, and your feedback is welcome.
For construction and architect questions please contact PCL Construction Services at SELWCOutreach@pcl.com or (858) 657-3400. For additional information about the project, visit the PCL Construction Services website. To learn more about the community art projects, please visit Leah's Creations.

Construction Milestone Reached at Southeastern Live Well Center
Crews hoisted a signed steel beam in a “topping off” ceremony at the Southeastern Live Well Center site on May 13, marking an exciting milestone for the $74 million project. Once complete, the center will become a social service hub with space for community meetings, educational opportunities and workforce training. The grand opening is scheduled for summer 2023.
Tubman Chavez Stories: A Community Cultural Display
A community input tour to help select between two concepts to honor the Tubman-Chavez Community Center is planned from January 14 through February 4. During tour stops, community members are invited to share their thoughts on a planned new display that will spotlight the rich history of Tubman-Chavez.
“Tubman Chavez Stories: A Community Cultural Display,” will honor the legacy and tell the stories of the community center which opened in 1995 and served the Southeastern San Diego community as a unifying gathering place. The selected exhibit will be housed inside the main lobby corridor of the County of San Diego’s new Southeastern Live Well Center. Learn more and provide your feedback
