Worksite wellness programs can lead to positive change for employees and organizations. They have the potential to impact a person's health-related behaviors and decrease the risk of disease. They can decrease healthcare costs and absenteeism and improve productivity, retention, and staff morale.

Examples of worksite wellness strategies include the following.

  • Company policies that promote healthy behaviors (ex. tobacco free campus),
  • Employee health insurance coverage for preventive screenings, and
  • Making healthy foods available and accessible through vending machines or cafeterias.
