Each tool is designed to help residents, partners, and policymakers better understand local trends and the needs of our communities.
County Strategic Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
San Diego County has introduced a new set of 26 Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)—covering areas like small-local business spend, employee engagement, justice system transparency, and greenhouse gas emissions—to provide a clear, unified view of progress across its five strategic priorities: community, empower, equity, justice, and sustainability. These KPIs are updated quarterly for staff and reported annually to the public, ensuring transparent tracking of how the County serves its residents.

The Child and Teen Health and Well-Being Dashboard
The Child and Teen Health and Well-Being Brief and Dashboard highlight health and well-being outcomes among the population 0-17 years in San Diego County. The Child and Teen Health and Well-Being dashboard and the accompanying brief focus on: demographics, social determinants of health (SDOH), education and immunization indicators, homelessness, mortality and morbidity outcomes.

Local Wastewater for Diseases Dashboard
San Diego County’s Public Health Laboratory has begun in‑house testing of local wastewater—sampling from Point Loma, South Bay, and Encina—to track pathogens like SARS‑CoV‑2, Influenza A and B, and RSV, with future plans to expand to additional diseases. This dashboard is updated biweekly and provides early insight into community health trends before clinical cases are detected.
